Todd: How can you be sure it’s not the inerrant word of a deity? There is a plenty evidence for a creator. But it takes a willingness to be open minded. I want my kids to be taught facts in public school not myth….unless it’s part of history or philosophy – which is no longer taught in schools.

Outside of the Bible, which is not the inerrant word of any diety, there is absolutely no evidence of creationism. Anyone who believes otherwise might as well believe that we all formed from fairy dust on a mountian on Mars and floated to earth on a rainbow made of magic sunbeams. It’s just as nuts.

O.K.
Well, where do I rate on the scale because I believe facts derived from all of the sciences mentioned by folks previous to me – and refute the teachings of a book.
A book. . . .
A BOOK. . . .
But, let us not forget the Christian ministry Answers in Genesis’s Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, where you can ride a saddled dinosaur “just like Adam and Eve did during the very first days of Earth – 6,000 years ago.”
You’ve got to be kidding me? And people actually believe this crap.
Both that man and dino’s roamed the earth together and that it all started just 6,000 measely years ago.
Hah! I kill me.
Also, evolution is a fact, not a belief and that’s my opinion based on facts proven by the aforementioned sciences and a lot not aforementioned that have yet to be mentioned. I guess God decided that I would be left short in the memory department.
Where’s the logic in that?
And don’t bother replying to this comment if all you have to back you is a book. A novel, even.

That is a GREAT site!

When Jill asked, “What about the dinosaurs… Do you honestly believe that more than 500 genera of dinosaurs rode on the ark??? ” could I be so bold as to attempt an answer.

First, I do not KNOW that there were any dinosaurs on the ark as there could have been a cause of their deaths prior to the flood, however, I suspect that there were two “after their kind”, just as the Bible records. Exactly what this meant, “after their kind“, the Lord and Noah understood. Perhaps there were many who died in the flood and those who were taken onto the ark failed to thrive afterward. Some evidence has been found that indicates dinosaurs and man were together on earth at some point.

When the Lord gave the command we have recorded in Genesis 1:20 “Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that has life…” I believe that in addition to a host of aquatic creatures being created instantly, a tremendous process of creation was put into place. Smug scientist today use the discovery of one of the processes God began as an attempt to shove the mention of Him out of the lives of children. Satan has always attempted to replicate the works of God and he never fails to deceive those who do not want to acknowledge God.

To watch the process of adaptation created by the Almighty and think that one suddenly has unraveled the mysteries of the universe and creation is, to say the least, naïve.

Just as a brief example… any science, from biology, to chemistry, to palaeontology, to archeology to modern medicine, uses natural selection as a cornerstone. It ties everything together. Please just do me a favor and pick up ANY science magazine and read just about any article. The majority of the work that scientists do is based a basic understanding evolution. Without understanding it you come to dead ends. Is it any wonder that we share some 98% of our dna with chimps and bonobos, but share much less dna with species who shared more distanced common ancestors? What about the dinosaurs… Do you honestly believe that more than 500 genera of dinosaurs rode on the ark??? Teach your kids whatever you want… I believe it’s intellectually abusive to teach them this kind of blatant ignorance and disrespect for truth.
