There is a serious point to this story. We think that Jesus Christ died so we could be happy, have lower gas prices, and be safe from hurricanes. But that’s not what scripture teaches at all:

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
    (2 Timothy 3:12)

And everyday we don’t should be a day of praise!

Hi Ron, A genie in a bottle or Santa Clause mentality certainly isn’t reality when thinking of the Christ and God I know, and it’s so sad this book has such a following. I have been opposed to reading it other than from a standpoint of what’s wrong with Christian thinking today. Thanks for pointing it out, even though it’s funny and expected, very serious and sad.

(been lurking through Tony’s blog and thought I would put in my two cents. enjoy your posts!!)

    Bless God…
