“Muslim Aid is very open about the faith that motivates its relief and development work. UMCOR, in contrast, is largely silent about Jesus Christ and the Bible. No wonder there is such easy agreement between them.”

Come on UMCOR, use my donations to update your website to give praise to Almighty God who empowers us, through His Spirit and by the grace offered through Jesus Christ, to reach out in love to those who suffer and are less fortunate than ourselves; in the hope that God would be praised and Christ be made known throughout the world to the Glory of God.
Loving People Means Pointing Them to the
All-Satisfying GodNow back to what it means to be loved. The idea has been almost totally distorted. Love has to do with showing a dying soul the life-giving beauty of the glory of God, especially his grace. Yes, as we will see, we show God’s glory in a hundred practical ways that include care about food and clothes and shelter and health. That’s what Jesus meant when he said, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Every good work should be a revelation of the glory of God. What makes the good deed an act of love is not the raw act, but the passion and the sacrifice to make God himself known as glorious. Not to aim to show God is not to love, because God is what we need most deeply. And to have all else without him is to perish in the end. The Bible says that you can give away all that you have and deliver your body to be burned and have not love (1 Corinthians 13:3). If you don’t point people to God for everlasting joy, you don’t love. You waste your life.

Luke 9:26: For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.
Luke 12:8-9: Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: (9) But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
2 Timothy 2:12: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
1 John 2:23: Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
2 Peter 2:1: But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
“I hope your plan(e) has the chance to crash and burn.”
Eric at showyourgaypride.com giving us another fine example of tolerance (warning: link goes to pro homosexual site) and reacting to news that Family Policy Network is going to fly an airplane banner over the San Diego Pride event. What apparently pushed Eric to hypocritically hope for an aircraft accident? What else but a nice clear call to repentance and faith:
FPN President Joe Glover was quoted as saying, “Homosexuality is nothing to celebrate. It has grave consequences, both physical and spiritual.”
“The hope of all who sin, including homosexuals, is the chance to turn from sin and embrace the redemption God makes available through His Son, Jesus Christ,” he added.
Well said, Joe. It’s not about homosexuality (alone), the message of the cross is for all who sin (no matter the sin). As you read this, please think about that. Is there sin you need to repent of? Then Jesus Christ is your hope too.

Focus on the Family is supporting homosexual “civil-union” legislation?
Harvey disagrees with Focus’ decision to get involved. “A lot of people look up to Focus to take principled stands on these issues,” she said. “They did not need to get involved here. A semi-domestic partner benefit bill, if passed, should not have a major Christian ministry’s fingerprints on it. It seems to me the Bible is pretty clear on this. Homosexuality is very, very wrong, and legislation that in any way rewards, recognizes, enables or appears to endorse these relationships is not a place for a Christian ministry’s involvement.”
Analysts and companies say the boycott of Danish goods called by Islamic countries is costing Danish businesses more than $1 million a day.
Hear me out a bit..
I’m sincerely offended at the media’s constant breaking of the 3rd commandment.
Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exodus 20:7)
I wish we who call ourselves Christians would protest (in a civillized manor) whenever the media blasphemed God and Jesus Christ. At least the Muslims are acting like they believe what they say.
I have to wonder if somewhere in the writing of this show, someone didn’t say, “nah, this needs to be more offensive…”
From the inbox:
The network is promoting “The Book of Daniel” as a serious drama about Christian people and the Christian faith. The characters include: Daniel Webster, a drug-addicted Episcopal priest; his alcoholic wife; his son, a 23-year-old homosexual Republican; his daughter, a 16-year-old drug dealing daughter; a 16-year-old adopted son who is having sex with the bishop’s daughter; his lesbian secretary who is sleeping with his sister-in-law; and a very unconventional white-robed, bearded Jesus who talks to the priest.
The writer for the program is Jack Kenny, a practicing homosexual who describes himself as being “in Catholic recovery,” and is interested in Buddhist teachings about reincarnation and isn’t sure exactly how he defines God and/or Jesus. “I don’t necessarily know that all the myth surrounding him (Jesus) is true,” he said.
Aidan Quinn, who plays Rev. Webster, said if the show offends some Catholics, “I don’t really care…”

Senate set to give half-billion in tax credit to support casinos, adult bookstores, liquor stores, massage parlors, escort services, country clubs
Contact Your U.S. Senators Today!
Congress is being asked to give nearly a half-billion dollars in tax credit to casinos, country clubs, liquor stores, massage parlors, adult bookstores and “escort” services which were damaged by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
The measure is now in a conference committee trying to work out the differences in the House version and Senate version.
If passed with the casino tax-breaks intact, the casinos would not only get their insurance money but also get the tax money. The House version doesn’t allow tax breaks for casinos, country clubs, liquor stores and massage parlors while the Senate version does.
TAKE ACTION
Send an email to your U.S. Senators and urge them not to include casinos, country clubs, liquor stores, massage parlors, adult bookstores and “escort” services in the half-billion in tax credits. Time is short as the bill is now being considered and expected out of conference soon.

Catching potential Internet sex predators - Dateline NBC - MSNBC.com
In any home where there are kids with computers, there are parents with concerns. Teenagers can spend hours chatting online, but who are they chatting with? On the other end of that instant message could be a complete stranger - or a sexual predator. It’s a dangerous side of the Internet, one that’s growing and many children are at risk. So we went undercover, filling a house with hidden cameras.Soon, a long line of visitors came knocking, expecting to find a young teenager they’d been chatting with on the Internet, home alone. Instead, they found Dateline.
We want to warn you some of what you’ll read is explicit. But parents need to know what their kids can confront when they sit down at the computer.
Look, here are some simple rules.
1. No computers in the bedroom. Keep any computer hooked to the Internet in a public room like a den or something.
2. Get a filter. Try BSafe Online’s filter free for 10 days. (yes, I work for them, but I get nothing for recommending the product, and I recommended it before they hired me.). If you don’t like their filter, get one you do like.
3. Know what your kids are doing online. There is never any reason for them to go in a public chat room - and Instant messaging should only be with friends they already have - not for making new one.
4. Don’t let them fill out a profile. It only works as pervert-bait.
